→ Pudding
01 - 2 cups whole milk
02 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1/4 cup cornstarch
04 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
05 - 2 large egg yolks
06 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
07 - 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
→ Topping
08 - 10 Oreo cookies, crushed
09 - Whipped cream (optional, for serving)
# Directions:
01 - In a medium saucepan, whisk together milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt until fully blended.
02 - Heat the mixture over medium heat, whisking continuously until it thickens and bubbles, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Gradually incorporate about 1/2 cup of the hot milk mixture into the yolks to temper.
04 - Return the tempered yolk mixture to the saucepan, whisking constantly. Continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes until thickened.
05 - Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
06 - Divide pudding into serving glasses or bowls. Allow to cool at room temperature for 10 minutes or chill for at least 1 hour as preferred.
07 - Before serving, sprinkle crushed Oreos generously over the pudding. Add whipped cream if desired.
