05 - 2 teaspoons lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
06 - 2 tablespoons olive oil

10 - 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

# Directions:
01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
02 - Whisk together maple syrup, lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil, garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using in a small bowl.
03 - Place salmon fillets and asparagus on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle asparagus with 1 tablespoon of the marinade and toss gently to coat.
04 - Brush the remaining marinade generously over the salmon fillets.
05 - Roast in the oven for 15 to 18 minutes until salmon flakes easily and asparagus is tender.
06 - Switch oven to broil and cook for an additional 2 minutes to caramelize the glaze, monitoring closely to avoid burning.
07 - Remove from oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
