01 - 3 cups mini pretzels
02 - 2 cups mixed unsalted nuts (cashews, almonds, pecans, peanuts)
→ Caramel Coating
03 - 1 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter
05 - 1/4 cup heavy cream
06 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, plus extra for sprinkling
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
# Directions:
01 - Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, mix the mini pretzels and mixed nuts evenly. Set aside.
03 - Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the granulated sugar and stir constantly until it dissolves and turns golden amber, about 5 to 7 minutes.
04 - Carefully whisk in the heavy cream; the mixture will bubble. Add sea salt and vanilla extract, stirring until the caramel is smooth and glossy.
05 - Pour the hot caramel over the pretzel and nut mixture. Gently toss with a spatula until everything is evenly coated.
06 - Spread the coated mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle additional sea salt on top. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring halfway through, until caramel sets and darkens slightly.
07 - Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely. Break into clusters before serving.
