Orange Cranberry Sparkler Rosemary (Printable Version)

Bright, tangy cranberry and orange sparkling drink accented with fresh rosemary and zest.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit & Juice

01 - 1 cup fresh cranberries
02 - 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
03 - 1 tablespoon orange zest

→ Sweetener

04 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar

→ Herbs

05 - 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, plus extra for garnish

→ Sparkling Base

06 - 3 cups chilled sparkling water or club soda

→ Garnish

07 - Orange slices
08 - Fresh cranberries

# Directions:

01 - In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, sugar, and rosemary sprigs. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 7 to 8 minutes until cranberries burst and sugar fully dissolves.
02 - Remove from heat. Gently muddle rosemary sprigs, then allow the mixture to cool for 5 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve, pressing firmly to extract all liquid. Discard solids.
03 - Fill drinking glasses with ice. Pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of cranberry-orange syrup into each glass.
04 - Top each glass with chilled sparkling water and stir gently to combine.
05 - Finish each beverage with fresh rosemary sprigs, orange slices, and cranberries. Serve immediately.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • It looks like you spent hours in a craft cocktail bar, but honestly takes less time than a coffee run.
  • That rosemary garnish makes everyone at the table feel celebrated, even on an ordinary Tuesday.
  • The syrup keeps in the fridge, so you can throw this together whenever the mood strikes.
02 -
  • Don't skip the cooling step before straining or you'll burn your hands and waste precious time; five minutes is the difference between frustration and smooth sailing.
  • The syrup is the real star here, so don't rush it in the saucepan or the cranberries won't fully burst and release their color and flavor.
03 -
  • If you want the grown-up version, add a 1-ounce pour of vodka or gin to each glass after the syrup but before the sparkling water, and nobody has to know unless you tell them.
  • Freeze a few cranberries and orange slices in ice cubes the night before for a drink that stays cold and beautiful as it melts, slowly releasing more flavor.
