# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • You can make it in a mug with ingredients you probably already have, no oven or fancy equipment needed.
  • The berries get soft and syrupy while the topping bakes into a tender, golden crust that soaks up all that fruit juice.
  • Its just for you, so you can eat it straight from the mug without sharing or doing a pile of dishes.
02 -
  • Dont overfill the mug or the batter will overflow as it rises, leaving you with a mess in the microwave and less cake to enjoy.
  • If using frozen berries, you dont need to thaw them first, but you might need an extra 15 to 30 seconds of cooking time.
  • The cake will look a little wet in the center right after microwaving, but it sets as it cools, so dont overdo it or it will dry out.
03 -
  • Use a mug thats wider rather than tall so the batter spreads evenly and cooks faster, giving you a better ratio of fruit to topping.
  • If your microwave runs hot, start with 1 minute 30 seconds and check, then add time in 10-second bursts to avoid overcooking.
  • Let the mug sit for a full 2 minutes before eating so you dont burn your tongue on molten berries, trust me on this one.
