Cottage Cheese Strawberry Oats (Printable Version)

A creamy, protein-rich blend of oats, cottage cheese, and fresh strawberries for a healthy start.

# What You'll Need:

→ Oats Base

01 - 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
02 - 1 cup milk, dairy or unsweetened non-dairy alternative
03 - 2/3 cup cottage cheese, low-fat or full-fat
04 - 2 tablespoons chia seeds
05 - 1 to 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
06 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Strawberry Layer

07 - 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
08 - 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
09 - 1 teaspoon maple syrup, optional

→ Topping

10 - 2 tablespoons graham cracker crumbs
11 - Additional fresh strawberries, sliced

# Directions:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats, milk, cottage cheese, chia seeds, maple syrup or honey, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
02 - In a separate small bowl, mash half of the strawberries with lemon juice and maple syrup if using until slightly chunky. Fold in the remaining chopped strawberries.
03 - Distribute half of the oat mixture into two jars or airtight containers. Add a layer of strawberry mixture, then top with remaining oat mixture.
04 - Cover containers and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight to allow oats to absorb liquid and flavors to meld.
05 - Gently stir mixture in the morning. Top with graham cracker crumbs and additional sliced strawberries if desired. Serve chilled.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • The cottage cheese does something magical—it creates this cheesecake-like richness without all the fuss or calories.
  • You prep it once and forget about it, which means your future self gets to enjoy breakfast without touching a pan.
  • At 17 grams of protein per bowl, it actually keeps you full past mid-morning, no 10 a.m. snack emergency required.
02 -
  • The cottage cheese needs to be blended in smoothly when you first mix—if you see lumps, it means you'll have grainy bites later, and that's not the vibe.
  • Don't skip the lemon juice on the strawberries; it wakes them up and prevents them from turning into sad, dull mush by morning.
03 -
  • Use full-fat cottage cheese if you're not watching calories; the richness takes this from good to genuinely craveable.
  • If you want to amplify the cheesecake flavor, soften 1–2 tablespoons of cream cheese and stir it into the oat base—it creates an almost indulgent depth that feels luxurious for breakfast.
